Text message notifications
How LPZ Barber Shop asks for permission to text you, and exactly what we send. Last updated September 6, 2026.
This page documents our SMS opt‑in process in full. It is here for customers who want to know what they agreed to, and for the mobile carriers who review business messaging programs before allowing them to send.
Where opt‑in happens
Consent is collected in person, at our shop — 310 New Brunswick Ave, Fords, NJ 08863 — on the walk‑in check‑in tablet at the front counter. There is no web form and no purchased list. Nobody is added to our messaging program any other way.
The tablet is a fixed installation in the shop and is not reachable from the public internet: it is unlocked by a device credential held only by the shop, so this page reproduces what a customer sees rather than linking to a live form.
What the customer sees
On the final step of check‑in, after entering a first name and mobile number, the customer is shown an unchecked box. It is unchecked by default and stays unchecked unless the customer taps it.
As shown on the check‑in tablet
That wording is stored word‑for‑word on the customer’s record at the moment they consent, together with the date and time and the fact that it came from the shop tablet. If we ever change the wording, existing records keep the words those customers actually saw.
What we send
Notifications about the customer’s own visit — where they are in line. Never marketing, never promotions, never anything from a third party. These are the messages:
W7 is the display code shown on the wall screen in the shop, so the customer can match
the message to the board.

Consent is never required
Declining texts changes nothing about the service. The customer joins the same line, in the same position, and we call their code out in the shop and show it on the wall screen either way. We do not ask for consent as a condition of a haircut, and we do not ask again on the same visit.
How consent is recorded
When the box is ticked we store three things alongside the customer record: the timestamp, the source (the shop tablet), and the verbatim wording shown above. A customer is only ever texted if all three are present and no opt‑out has been received since.
